The Green food revolution has come and never left; the Green Foods are here to stay. The evidence is clear. These foods are so nutrient dense, rich in chlorophyll, enzymes and trace minerals that they have a beneficial effect on the body, balancing pH, relieving cell toxicity, assisting blood sugar stability and aiding in the digestion/absorption of nutrients.

When the benefits of super green foods started getting mainstream recognition many people made the choice to replace their daily vitamin and mineral supplement regime with their new green ‘magic.’ The body responded to the nutrient dense greens in ways that standard vitamin and mineral supplements could not compete. But time is the best test, especially when it involves the human body.

So what have we found? Optimum nutrition cannot be reached with greens alone. Additional vitamins, minerals, amino acids and numerous co-factors are necessary. The busy and stressful lifestyles of today make demands on our bodies like never before, this is compounded with the fact that the nutrient content of food is decreasing, so although we are largely over fed we are actually undernourished. Green food supplements can help make sure we are getting all the nourishment we need.

Getting the best of both worlds. So now we are back to taking our B Complex, C, Calcium, antioxidants, etcetera, as well as our greens, adding some essential fatty acids and pro-biotics in for good measure. How many pills and at what price? There has got to be a better way, and there is….

ALL ONE supplement powders have long been innovative products on the supplement shelves with the Original formula being the brainchild of James Ingoldsby and Adelle Davis. Always ahead of the game, ALL ONE Green Phyto Base is the only nutrient powder available that combines a high potency vitamin and mineral formula, naturally occurring amino acids, enzymes and essential co-factors WITH a potent organic blend of greens including: kamut, barley, wild oat grass, alfalfa, green cabbage, kale, parsley, mustard greens, sea dulce, sea vegetables, chlorella and spirulina. Pure, organic juices are extracted, dried and blended to produce an unsurpassed nutritional medium for ALL ONE. These superior nutrient rich plants, representing the very top of the Green Food list, are cultivated organically according to strict O.C.I.A. standards. They are rich in phyto-nutrients, chlorophyll, iron, enzymes, trace minerals, light weight proteins and catalytic enzymes, which work synergistically to permit immediate absorption of the high potency vitamins and minerals in ALL ONE.

Feeling The Green Food Difference

It is the ease of absorption that plays a key role in the beneficial energy boost reported by users of the ALL ONE Green Phyto Base. We are told that they felt good on the greens alone, but now they notice a marked difference. The ALL ONE Green Phyto Base is a healthy, one-step solution to optimum nutrition, health and balance.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New study shows why we can’t “eat just one”

An interview with nutrition expert Doug Ingoldsby, “The Vitamin Professor”

(Jones; “a desire for something that may be sought irrespective of the consequences”, Urban Dictionary)

Obese people often say they would genuinely like to stop eating chips, ice cream, and Ding Dongs, but feel almost powerless to stop their binges.

Now a recent study (by Nature Neuroscience – www.nature.com) suggests why it is that once you get hooked on the stuff, it’s nearly impossible to stop “jonesing for junk food”.

“When lab rats were fed junk food they ballooned in size and eating became such a compulsion that they kept chowing down even when they knew they would receive an unpleasant electric shock if they did so,” says nutrition expert Doug Ingoldsby.

“Meanwhile, rats fed with a well-balanced diet didn’t gain much weight and knew enough to stop eating when they received a warning that an electric shock was coming.”

Ingoldsby says even more startling was that when researchers took away the junk food from the obese rats and replaced it with healthier food, the obese rats went on a two week hunger strike.

So what might this say about human behavior?

“The suggestion is that a diet heavy in highly rewarding foods — quite literally, sausages, cheesecake and other highly processed foods — might cause changes in the brain’s reward system for satiety”, says Ingoldsby. “When that happens, not only do people gain weight, but need to seek out more and more junk food for their brains to signal ‘ENOUGH – you can stop eating’”.

An earlier study by the same researchers suggested that weaning rats off a high-calorie diet might lead to similar effects in the brain as withdrawing from drugs and alcohol.

“It’s hard, but not impossible, to break the addiction to high fat/high sugar foods,” says Ingoldsby.

For those looking for a way to jump off the junk food treadmill, Ingoldsby suggests the following;

Five Tips for fixing your “Junk Food Jones”:

Start feeding your brain. Brain health requires the type of fat found in fish, flax seeds, and grass fed animals known as omega-3 fatty acids.

Consume high quality proteins and fats to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Include plenty of fresh green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet.

Vitamin and mineral supplements. Your body can rebuild years of neglect only if it has sufficient quantities of all essential nutrients including amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids. A good high dosage, balanced multi-nutrient supplement is essential.

Eat whole food, not refined food. Eat fresh food, not frozen. Whenever possible choose raw food over cooked food and choose organically produced foods where available.

About Doug Ingoldsby

Study finds adults are crunching & munching between meals in record numbers

An interview with nutritional educator Doug Ingoldsby

Are you toting a bag of potato chips in your briefcase? Hiding a package of cookies in your desk drawer? Toting a candy bar (or two) in your purse?

If so, you aren’t alone.

According to a new study in February’s edition of the Journal of Nutrition, Americans are gobbling down snacks at a record pace.

The 10 most popular snack categories are: (ranking by taquitos.net)

Potato Chips (1149 varieties)

Chocolate (578 varieties)

Candy Bars/Snack Bars/Energy Bars (366 varieties)

Hot Chips (313 varieties)

Tortilla Chips (310 varieties)

Barbecue Chips (305 varieties)

Popcorn (296 varieties)

Pretzels (290 varieties)

Ripple Chips (274 varieties)

Nuts (233 varieties)

“Researchers found that adults have nearly doubled their between-meal snacking from the late 70′s to 2006,” says nutritional educator Doug Ingoldsby of All One.

“Adults now derive 25 percent of their calorie intake from snacks,” says Ingoldsby.

Ingoldsby says U.S. retail sales of packaged snacks was around $68 billion in 2008, with sales projected to reach near $82 billion by 2013.

“In large part due to our global recession, consumers are snacking more than ever, thanks to a reduction in restaurant dining, harried lifestyles that reduce opportunities for sit-down meals, and a growing consensus that several small meals or snacks during the day are actually healthier than the traditional three-square meal paradigm.

“With fast food and snack food making up the majority of calorie intake for many Americans, it’s important that we realize that the quality of our calories has declined and that intake of nutritional supplements is now vital for good health,” says Ingoldsby.

For those of us dedicated to a lifetime of snacking, Ingoldsby can give recommendations on how to go about getting nutrients essential for the human body that are not typically found in snack foods.

The life span of the average American has increased dramatically. The latest Census data reports that 40 million persons in the United States are over the age of 65 and that number is expected to grow to 71.5 million by 2030. Unfortunately, knowledge about the nutritional requirements to maintain good health and quality of life for the growing senior population is somewhat limited. See also: Senior Vitamin and Mineral Supplements

The government RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) is the amount of vitamins, minerals and proteins believed to be needed by most people each day to not develop a disease from deficiency. It is largely considered the “standard.” Unfortunately, these amounts were based on studies using healthy individuals below the age of 50 making the current RDA inappropriate for those over 50. According to recent surveys, as many as 40 percent of the nations elderly are afflicted with nutritional deficiencies. Most experts agree that nutrition and diet is key, with a good senior vitamin and mineral supplement increasingly important.

Ranjit Kumar Chandra, M.D. of Memorial University of Newfoundland conducted a yearlong study of 86 persons over the age of 65. His findings, as published in the September 2001 issue of Nutrition, show that a supplement with moderate amounts of 18 vitamins, minerals and trace elements improves the short-term memory and overall cognitive abilities of seniors, and greatly strengthens their immune systems. Dr. Chandra also suggests that supplements may prevent serious neurological damage and disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Another study published in the August 2001 issue of Nutrition by Teresa A. Marshall, M.D. and colleagues at the University of Iowa found that nutritional deficiencies greatly increase with age, and that supplement use would eliminate these deficiencies in the elderly. Dr. Marshall studied 420 persons over the age of 78 and found 80% of those seniors consumed inadequate amounts of four or more nutrients.

“Older adults need to learn about the contribution that dietary supplements can make to promoting health and reducing the risk for chronic diseases,” said Jeffrey Blumberg, Ph.D., Professor of Nutrition and Chief of the Antioxidants Research Laboratory at the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University.

An Inexpensive “Insurance Policy” is A Good Senior Vitamin Product

The “experts” have established minimum daily requirements to prevent illness for individuals under 50. But, there is much controversy regarding nutritional supplements and if the higher levels of nutrients they supply will promote better health.

Most do agree that the elderly and sick, whose appetites are depressed and compromised, or have to take medication that can interfere with nutrition, may be deficient in certain vitamins and minerals without taking a supplement.

Yet, the “experts” offer no recommendations as these cases, although common, are all
very individual. They will, however, agree that a vitamin and mineral supplement can offer an “insurance policy.” So, unfortunately, it really is up to the individual and those who care for the elderly to determine what to do to ensure adequate if not optimum nutrition in later life. The evidence supporting the need for supplementation continues to grow.

A few key factors to keep in mind when researching a new supplement regime:

Always check with your doctor. Some medications and particular vitamins and minerals should not be taken together as they might decrease or increase the action of the medication.

Digestibility. If you have to take 10 tablets, or one for that matter, is your body going to be able to breakdown that hard outer shell in order for the nutrients to be absorbed by your body? A powder or liquid vitamin with no added sweeteners or fillers is always preferable to tablets.

Quality and potency. Does the supplement have enough of the nutrients you need in balanced amounts (remember synergy) to be beneficial?

Feel the difference. Do you actually feel a difference when taking the supplement? More energy, better sleep, better concentration. If not, then you are probably not digesting and absorbing the nutrients and/or the dosages may be too low.

ALL ONE Active Senior Formula

ALL ONE powdered multivitamin Formulas are high potency and easily absorbed when mixed with juice. It is the ONLY supplement brand without artificial additives, sweeteners, fillers or preservatives. The Active Senior Formula has been especially formulated for the active senior and includes the following ingredients with extra calcium and B12

Co-enzyme Q10 – Synthesized from plants, this vitamin-like compound occurs naturally in our bodies. CoQ10 is an essential component of one of the most fundamental biochemical processes in living beings: the conversion of fuel to energy.

FOS – Fructo-Oligosaccharides (as Nutra Flora) are an all natural class carbohydrate found in bananas, tomatoes, artichokes, onions, and garlic. Promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines.

Gingko Biloba – Supports blood circulation. Oxygen metabolism. Invigorates memory. Is also an energetic free radical scavenger, protecting the body against accumulating too many damaged cells. The purified extract from ginkgo leaves and berries contain powerful phytochemicals which promote blood flow to the brain, feeding it critical nutrients and oxygen. May enhance alertness and short term memory. May be beneficial for tinnitis (ringing of the ears).

Calcium – is the most abundant, essential mineral in the human body and is needed to for bones and teeth and is also required for blood clotting, transmission of nerve cell signals, and muscle contraction. Calcium is also important in preventing osteoporosis. Osteoporosis, osteomalacia and rickets are all symptoms of Calcium and/or Vitamin D deficiency. Calcium is found in dairy products, salmon, green leafy vegetables and tofu, but most people eat below the recommended amount of calcium and should consider a supplement.

See what satisfied users have to say about the Active Senior Formula >>

For most seniors, taking a senior vitamin and mineral supplement will not only act as an “insurance policy” for greater health in the future, but it will also improve the quality of life today.

Recent surveys show that as many as 40 percent of the nations elderly are afflicted with nutritional deficiencies. Most experts agree that poor nutrition accelerates the aging process. A good senior multivitamin and mineral supplement is becoming increasingly important.

Some of the factors that contribute to the malnourishment of the senior population are:

Diet of Convenience, Processed Foods

Primary consumption of processed and refined foods with a decrease in fresh foods. Convenience is a priority for many seniors and as there is also a gradual loss of taste with age, especially salty and sweet, seniors tend to choose the more highly processed and refined foods that are high in salt and sugar yet low in nutritional content.

Compromised digestion

First, older people produce less saliva and are often plagued by bad dentures creating a poor start to the digestive process.

Second, an estimated 30% of seniors lose their ability to make adequate stomach acid. This not only slows down the whole process of digestion with uncomfortable symptoms, it also means that vitamins such as B12 and folic acid cannot be properly absorbed. Deficiencies in these nutrients, as well as vitamin B6, can cause neurological changes such as decline in alertness, loss of memory and numbness of extremities.

Third, there is the general slowing of transit time due to enzyme activity that can result in hard stools and constipation.

Decreased appetite

As we age our metabolism slows and our bodies require fewer calories so our appetites naturally decrease.

Medication

Many types of medication can contribute to the depletion of particular nutrients. When medication is taken on a regular basis this nutrient depletion can result in nutrient deficiencies and imbalances. As most nutrients are synergistic (work with and affect each other) the depletion of one nutrient will always have a compound effect on one’s overall nutritional status.

Illness

Due to particular diseases, such as heart disease or osteoporosis, as we age we need less of some minerals (such as sodium to lower blood pressure) and more of others (such as calcium and vitamin D for bone mass).

Depression and loneliness

Retirement and the loss of loved ones can have great impact on one’s life leading to a disinterest in eating. Many seniors do not have the economical means, knowledge or willingness to ensure the most nutritious choices in food selection and meal preparation.

As a result of the above, the nutrition of seniors is often caught in a three-way bind:

1. Decreased nutritional intake.

2. Decreased absorption.

3. An increased need for nutrients that is caused by the age related decline of the body’s systems.

This negative feedback loop can often result in chronic disease conditions associated with age such as osteoporosis and heart disease. Once this loop is in motion the use of a quality multivitamin and mineral supplement especially for seniors can significantly contribute to reversing this loop and get the body back on the track of good health.

“About three weeks ago I began to use your ALL ONE powdered vitamins and mineral supplement. I heard about ALL ONE on Know the Cause T.V. show and decided to give it a try. WOW! I was pleasantly surprised. It has helped me sleep through the night, have more energy and it makes my skin less dry, and it tastes good too. I am 80 years young and I take no prescription medicine. Of course, I pray, eat healthy and keep moving, but now with ALL ONE I feel so much better. Thank you so much for this wonderful product.”

Can’t I get all my vitamins from the foods I eat?

Answer: NO, you’re not even eating food! Doug reveals in this short interview why many modern foods are not really “food” at all and have very little nutritional value. He explains why eating well and smart is becoming more important as well as using a good supplement such as ALL ONE. Both vitamins and minerals are in short supply in the foods we eat and this leads to various health and energy issues affecting millions daily. This short video was just released on YouTube:

Here’s a “glowing” testimonial from a happy customer on Amazon.com – See original review – about the ALL ONE Fruit Antioxidant Formula

By Rebecca Johnson “SeasonedwithLove.com” (Washington State)

“A single scoop of All One 100% pure nutrient powder turns a simple fruit smoothie (or even a glass of juice) into a powerful, one step, all day super charged nutrition program. It’s the food supplement everyone has been wishing someone, somewhere would produce.”

This is a slightly lemony tasting powder that can be mixed into juice. I’ve mixed this into soy milk or milk. This is the fruit formula powder filled with potent phytochemicals and does actually have 1 gram of protein from rice.

To mix this powder fully, use a blender like the Braun immersion blender: Braun MR5550CA Multiquick Professional Hand Blender, White, you can find this here at Amazon. If you are adding fruit to make a smoothie, just toss a scoop of this powder into your regular blender. You can also use a Tupperware shaker or GNC has shakers that work very well to blend this powder into juice. I like blending a level tablespoon of this powder with one scoop of protein powder.

After just a week of using this product you may find that your skin is just glowing. Eating lots of vegetables and fruit also help. Not to mention exercise like yoga. This product contains a blend of tart cherries, wild blueberries, cranberries and apples.

I recommend this formula to anyone who is noticing their skin texture and vibrancy is just not what it could be.

Added Bonus: This company offers a free “scoop and shaker cup” when you provide a proof of purchase. When you write them, ask for a Ingredient Information pamphlet and information booklets about their products. They have some amazing products for all age groups and needs.

There is a purity in their products that makes me feel good about taking the ALL ONE supplements.

Most kid’s supplements are loaded with colorings, dyes and sweeteners with very low potency vitamins. Unfortunately, our kid’s get enough sugar, flavorings and additives in their diet as it is, don’t give them even more in their vitamins!

Children’s vitamins should NOT be candy: They’re colorful, chewy, and come in fun shapes like elephants, dinosaurs, and cartoon characters. But unfortunately they are flavored and sweetened to taste just like candy. Many children’s vitamins taste like candy because they basically are candy. They contain many ingredients that are found in most sweets. The ingredients of one gummy type vitamin included the following -glucose syrup, sucrose, gelatin and magnesium stearate. The traditional Gummi Bear candy is made from sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavoring, food coloring and gelatin. Other common ingredients used in chewable vitamins are fructose, sorbitol, and cherry flavoring.

Many so-called ‘children’s vitamins’ contain only tiny amounts of actual nutrients, and some brands entirely omit the vitamins that growing kids need the most.

Most children’s supplements contain vitamins only. No minerals (though some do) and no amino acids (the building blocks of protein). To be ‘complete’ they should have vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Fillers and colorings – less is better – NONE is Best!

Children can sometimes have allergic reactions to the additives put in their vitamin pills. Parents should look for “hypo-allergenic” brands that contain no colorings or flavorings.

The Feingold Association has long recommended that parents of children who suffer from learning difficulties, ADHD or Autism, avoid artificial sweeteners, flavorings, colors and preservatives as these appear to aggravate their conditions. They say most ADHD problems come from the very same colorings, dyes, sweeteners and additives that are found in most kid’s supplements! The ALL ONE Kids contains NO sweeteners, colorings or additives and is one of the few children’s supplements approved by the Feingold Association.

ALL ONE Kids is the ONLY additive free, sweetener free, color free supplement for kids.

Don’t compromise when it comes to optimal health and nutrition for your kids. ALL ONE Kids offers a welcome alternative to many of the candy-like supplements currently available. ALL ONE Kids is the ONLY additive free, sweetener free, color free supplement for kids. It is gluten, yeast, soy and dairy free. And is truly a complete nutritional supplement supplying essential amino acids, as well as, vitamins and minerals in appropriate amounts. This vegan formula is also versatile as it can be mixed in rice milk, or juice, and even stirred into yogurt or applesauce. ALL ONE Kids makes a great smoothie too! With so many fun options your kids will actually enjoy taking their vitamins every day.

What can I do to protect against swine flu?

With flu season upon us, there is lots of scare talk out there right now about the dangers of swine flu. It is true that the center for disease control is monitoring the spread of this new strain of flu called H1N1 and there have been some serious cases reported. So the question becomes: What can I do? The basics are simple: Avoid people who are infected. Wash your hand frequently and often. Stay out of crowded places. If you cannot avoid crowded places, a face mask can also help protect against swine flu.

Is there a Swine Flu Vitamin?

When it comes to fighting disease everyone is always looking for a magic bullet. There is no one particular vitamin that will ward off this or any other strain of flu. However, there are a number of nutrients that can help to boost your immune system. A healthy immune system will fight off infection, and make you a much more unlikely candidate to contract this or any other infectious disease.

The 4 Key Nutrients To Boost Your Immune System

Vitamin A. Vitamin a is extremely effective in fighting infections. Although Vitamin A has received much negative press recently it is an invaluable vitamin for a strong immune system. The only danger of vitamin A toxicity is in extremely large doses taken over an extended period of time. The amounts found in our multiple formulations are very safe and very critical to building a healthy immune system.

Vitamin C. The most popular vitamin vitamin C is also necessary in building a strong immune system. Also, the important vitamin C cofactor Bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids fill up cell receptor sites so H1N1 flu germs can’t get into your cells and cause infection.

Vitamin E. Supports blood flow and transportation of oxygen to every cell. Vitamin E in the therapeutic doses necessary to be effective (400 IU) must be found in supplements. This is an expensive nutrient so read the label! Many companies will put only 30 IU’s in their products. Not enough to do the trick.

Along with these key vitamins the mineral Zinc is also critical to maintaining a strong and efficient immune system to protect against swine flu.

These are but a few of the nutrients required by the body for a healthy robust immune system.

Strong Immune System = No Swine Flu

It has been verified though numerous studies over the years that good eating habits along with supplementation can go a long way to strengthening the body’s immune system. Even the “father of the germ theory” Louis Pasteur stated that the most virulent, germs can not spread to a human being if that person had a strong immune system.

To protect against Swine flu you need more than these 4 vitamins and one mineral.

There are two (2) very important things we have learned in the many decades our family has been in the supplement business.

One (1): If you are deficient in one nutrient chances are very good you are deficient in many. That is why we focused only on high potency complex multiple formulations.

Two (2): Nutrients work together in concert. Studies repeatedly indicate that when nutrients are combined with other nutrients and food cofactors the effectiveness and assimilation of that nutrient is increased. Vitamin C works better in the presence of citrus bioflavonoids, Calcium when combined with vitamin D and magnesium. B6 effectiveness is markedly increased when found in combination with a balanced array of the other B complex vitamins. The absorption of all minerals is maximized when combined with naturally occurring amino acids which are found in protein.

ALL ONE powdered multiples are the most efficient, easy to take, cost effective mode of administration for supplying your body with the important nutrients it needs to have a robust healthy functioning immune system and a healthy immune system is the best insurance to help protect against infections and viruses like the swine flu.
